_x000D_ California Instruments 2003RP AC Power Source_x000D_ Programmable AC Power Source 2000VA_x000D_ _x000D_ Compact AC Power_x000D_ Offering simple rotary front panel controls, the 2003RP Programmable AC Power_x000D_ Source is ideally suited for a wide range of three phase applications._x000D_ Selectable input voltage ranges allow this product to be used anywhere in the_x000D_ world to provide a convenient source of variable utility power for the testing_x000D_ and evaluation of domestic and commercial equipment. All common line voltage and_x000D_ frequency combinations are covered. In addition, the frequency range extends to_x000D_ 5,000 Hz, making these products ideal for commercial and defense avionics_x000D_ applications. Accurate measurement functions are available as an option to_x000D_ eliminate the need for external test equipment in many test setups. Voltage,_x000D_ current, peak current, power, and power factor can be read directly on the large_x000D_ LCD display or over the bus. Overload protection is provided standard using a_x000D_ programmable current limit function._x000D_ Easy To Use Controls_x000D_ Front panel digital rotary encoders are used to set voltage and frequency. These_x000D_ controls have an analog feel, with the precision and reliability of digital_x000D_ circuits. Settings are read directly on the large high contrast LCD displays._x000D_ Dual output voltage ranges of 135 Vrms and 270 Vrms L-N, provide maximum current_x000D_ at the required voltage. The output frequency can be varied from 16 Hz up to_x000D_ 5,000 Hz to cover commercial, avionics and defense power applications._x000D_ IEC 1000-3-2 Test Applications_x000D_ The low total harmonic distortion of the output makes the RP Series suitable AC_x000D_ sources for IEC 1000-3-2 Current Harmonics pre compliance testing._x000D_ Quality Control_x000D_ For product quality test applications, the 2003RP can be used to simulate_x000D_ line conditions found anywhere in the world. This ensures products destined for_x000D_ export will operate as designed._x000D_ Avionics Applications_x000D_ As an affordable and reliable source of 400 Hz AC power, the 2003RP is well_x000D_ suited for commercial and defense avionics applications._x000D_ Functional Design_x000D_ The small form factor and low weight of these units make them convenient to use_x000D_ in a variety of locations. Removable rubber feet protect the work surface if the_x000D_ unit is used in a bench top mode. The 3.5 inch height saves valuable rack space_x000D_ when compared to conventional AC power sources at this power level._x000D_ Remote or Local Operation_x000D_ For automated test equipment (ATE) applications, the 2003RP can be outfitted_x000D_ with both GPIB and RS-232C using the -IF option. A front panel lock out mode is_x000D_ supported on both models if operator interaction with the AC source is not_x000D_ required or desired._x000D_ The optional remote control interface allows complete control of all AC_x000D_ source functions and provides measurement data to the controller. This allows_x000D_ the RP Series AC source to be used as a low cost AC test system. A Windows™_x000D_ Graphical User Interface (GUI) program is included with the interface option._x000D_ Automatic power cycling and transient generation is made possible with the use_x000D_ of this GUI program. The GUI output control, measurement and transient screens_x000D_ are shown here. For quality assurance applications, measured voltage, current_x000D_ and VA readings can be logged to disk for documentation and analysis purposes._x000D_ All data recorded is time stamped to create a complete history of each test run._x000D_ Up to eight often used front-panel setups can be stored in non-volatile memory_x000D_ for quick recall from the PC controller through the interface. With enhanced_x000D_ capabilities such as data logging to file and Dynamic Data Exchange to other_x000D_ Windows programs, many applications can be addressed without the need for_x000D_ writing custom code._x000D_ Extensive Transient Control_x000D_ With the addition of the remote control interface option, the 2003RP is capable_x000D_ of producing transients with a high degree of user programmability. Setting up_x000D_ transient programs is facilitated by a Windows Graphical User Interface program_x000D_ that allows amplitude, frequency and event duration to be programmed from a PC._x000D_ Time resolution is 1 ms (0.001 sec) with a minimum time interval ranging from 10_x000D_ to 40 ms, depending on the transient type. Transient programming allows the_x000D_ effects of common line disturbances such as voltage surges, sags, drop-outs and_x000D_ frequency fluctuations on the unit under test to be evaluated. Voltage drop out_x000D_ transients can be programmed at random phase angles or at 0, 90, 180 and 270_x000D_ degrees with respect to phase A._x000D_ AC Line Immunity Testing_x000D_ Special application support is provided for pre-compliance IEC 1000-4 immunity_x000D_ testing, specifically IEC 1000-4-11 Voltage Dips and Interruptions, IEC_x000D_ 1000-4-14 Voltage Fluctuations (draft) and IEC 1000-4-28 Frequency Variations_x000D_ (draft). All IEC test windows provide on screen editing of test parameters to_x000D_ meet various product category test requirements. These test sequences can be_x000D_ saved to disk, enabling a library of IEC test sequences to be created. Generic_x000D_ test files are supplied with the program for immediate use.
